Here is my card for the "It's a Date" mixed media challenge. I chose the date of my first actuarial job, because I needed a "congrats on your promotion" card. I wanted to use my measuring tape washi tape for it with the "You Rule" sentiment. And then I decided since I have a mathy job, that I would make a stylized slide rule. So then I had to google slide rule, because I didn't really know what they looked like. I made the word pattern using my "Jenthill" font that I think I downloaded from fontspace.com, cut it with the ScanNCut, and then double embossed it in black.
The very final touch was to mark the 2 and the 4 on the ruler to mark the date of my first actuarial job. I started as an intern on 2/4/02 and I've been with the same company for 16 years. Looking forward to browsing this gallery!

Very appropriate and very fun Congrats card for someone in your line of business, Jen. Love the colors and the washi tape. Fun! Hugz

Stylized is right! I always learn from you, Jen. This time, not only with your creativity, but I had to look up "actuarial"! Adding the bling and fancy header makes this very cool, personalized card more feminine. You Rule!

Oh dear, I must be dating myself when I say that I did actually use a slide-rule, though only at home, I don't think we needed to know how for school. This card is so imaginative, and very well carried out from your original idea.
