Mother's Day here is next Sunday, and with DH's motorbike still snowed into the back yard and one of his three busiest weeks of the year on the go, he's not likely to get out to see her before then - so I started making a mailable card last night. I thought these flowers would look pretty on it, so I got up early this morning, stamped them on vellum, embossed with white, sponged white ink over them and coloured the cones and stems from behind with Sharpies and cut them out.
And they didn't work on the card for my MIL, so I made them into a quick card for Judy's EOINA Light to Dark TLC to use ombre. I dry embossed the frame and cut a reverse mask, then sponged the blues and spritzed them with water. Looked for a suitable sentiment and this one seems to fit the bill.

Beautiful blue ombre oval as a backdrop for these fabulous flowers. Love the doodled frame along the edge, which goes so nicely with the font of the sentiment. Well done! TFS

Oh, Sabrina, this is GORGEOUS! I've always loved this set by Tim, and these are my favorite flowers from the set. They are fabulous embossed in vellum, and I love your soft coloring. What a great idea to sponge behind the cone flowers and emboss a die. And your doodled border is perfection! I sure hope you can get out soon with all that snow! Have you been house-bound still? Sorry DH won't get to see his mom on Mother's Day. Warm hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Oh my word, this is so beautiful Sabrina. I have been sitting here looking at it for the longest time. I bet your MIL has a wonderful collection of 'handcrafted with love' cards from over the years.
