Stef is our hostess in the color challenge this week, and she really challenged me with Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and Emerald Envy! The dessert option this week is to use your favorite embellishment.
My two cards started out with a new-to-me technique, demonstrated by the amazing Jennifer McGuire. I love watching her videos, but usually I find I don't have the needed supplies on hand to dive right in. This week I had everything on hand to try "Glazed Distress Oxide." Not knowing where the journey would take me, I decided to do one panel of all coral and peach shades, one panel of green shades, and then a third panel with both colors.
This is my second card. If you read my comments on the first one, you know that heat embossing on these panels was an epic fail for me. So I pulled out my Stitched Flower dies, and cut out the flowers and leaves.
I used a clever little stamp from a new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, and with the help of my MISTI, I was able to create a cute gingham area at the bottom of my card. Then the ribbon, with another stamp from the same set, and a sentiment from one of my all-time favorite SU sets, Curvy Verses. I arranged the flowers and leaves, added a few sequins (favorite embellishment-dessert!), and called it good.
Please click here to see the first card I made with the other panel.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week.

Love, love, love how this turned out! You would never know that those flowers were part of a technique that did go as planned. Your gingham section of the card is darling also!

Barbara, you did a remarkable job creating for the color challenge! I love the beautiful flowers and plaid panel. You did a fantastic job following Jennifer's technique! She is fantastic and I, too, love viewing her videos.
