I bought this image because it reminded me of a crazy childhood Christmas memory but haven't had the chance to ink it up until now. This image was perfect for the Fan Club Christmas Challenge!
So my crazy Christmas memory happened when I was just 5 and my sister was 2 1/2. My dad, the original Clark Griswold (bad luck and all) decided to pile us into a little VW Bug and go cut down a Christmas tree in the woods. We lived in Montana and it snowed a great deal that year. The VW Bug could go anywhere in any weather but the one thing it couldn't do was get out of a snow bank!!! Somehow my dad managed to back it into a snowbank! It grew dark and we were stuck out in the middle of nowhere and these were the days long before cell phones! We stood there freezing in the gloom for what seemed like hours until my dad eventually put a treasured baby blanket underneath the tires for traction and boom the VW bug was free.
We never did bring home a Christmas tree but maybe we brought home something even better, a tale of winter survival in the big woods and a penchant for VW images!
I will probably send this to my sister!

Angela this is AWESOME! Ok you and Julie both used stamps I must get. Totally cute! Great layout and your coloring rocks! BTW I have wanted to go get our own Christmas tree for years now and have yet to do it. We wouldn't do it in a bug though. hee hee Great memory though.

Oh, Angie, I LOVE VW bugs too and had one as my very first car (that I bought all by myself). So proud! I love the wreath and bow on the front end with the Christmas tree and gifts on top! What a fun (and memory-filled) story about when you lived in Montana. Wow, that was an adventure you'll never forget, and those are the cherished memories you will have always. I do remember that bugs were terrible when the snow got too high...ask me how I know? Well, bugs were great in the snow generally, but at some point (as you well know) the snow gets too high and they go nowhere! LOL! But I agree with Stacy that I need a VW bug stamp!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful card (great sketch and plaid/tartan) and wonderful memory! Hugs! xoxo

It could only be more perfect if you had told us that the treasured baby blanket was tartan ;) Adorable image, beautiful colouring - great festive card Angela!
