My DH is a member of the calligraphy club and their big party for the year is a Valentine card swap. Through the years, I've learned that the A2 size is just not showy enough to impress at this event. This one is 8.5 x 5.5--a half sheet of card stock. It's a stretch for me to fill up so much more space on a card front, especially when all of my dies and toys are sized to perfectly fit an A2.
There isn't anything really difficult on this card--it's just die-cut layers and sponging. I stamped the large rose from Rose Wonder stamp set multiple times on Calypso Coral, then cut it out--each time eliminating some petals from the previous layer. I sponged the edges with Cherry Cobbler and Calypso Coral, then assembled the rose. You don't necessarily have to get the layers the same as they were on the stamp. Roses vary IRL. After the glue was dry, I distressed the edges. Until then it didn't look like much. It really came alive when I covered it with Wink of Stella.
