As a little girl, tea parties were not my thing. I was more the building tree houses and forts kinda kiddo. In fact, I have never been big on purses my whole life. I carry a basic purse until it falls apart and then I force myself to shop for a new one, usually in neutral shade so that it will not clash with my capris and T shirt. My BF did give me a great purse one time and I should have honored it here because it was so NOT me, but I loved it, but alas, I only just now remembered about it.
Anyway, for the purse challenge, I went the way of Vera Bradley--those quilted sewn bags, very popular in the south. I cut the edge of my pattern paper with the paisley scalloped die, embossed it and created my base with the two pattern papers. I cut the lacy die cut from vellum and then digging around in my buttons, I found a paper button cut from an age old die cut of a button (remember the die cut tool you used to hold in your hand--whatever it was called). I cut the sentiment three times from the watercolor print paper and glued them together and popped it up on tiny pieces of adhesive foam.

My DD and DGD carry Vera Bradley.......so not me. I also wait until one falls apart before searching for another..no fun! I love your nod to Vera. This card is beautiful with the matching button and cutesy print. (Not me either!)

I recognized this instantly as Vera Bradley. I love flowered purses, but have to go for the vinyl kind, not cloth, as I have to wipe them off a lot. This card is just beautiful! You picked the perfect print and the perfect embossing folder to "quilt" it with. The black and white stripes just make it so chic! Great card. And I still have the Quick Kuts button dies, round and square.

Oh my, Jean - what a stylish treat for some Teapotter. This card is gorgeous. I'm not familiar with Vera Bradley either, but this would certainly suit a Southern belle. I love the button and die-cut word detail.
I'm in your camp in real life - I usually only buy a new one when my previous one has succumbed to old age, a broken strap, a dead zip... And then it's a terrible job finding one in a hurry which suits my needs with enough pockets and compartments.

Love, love your "Vera Bradley" prints, Jean! You had a perfect embossing folder to quilt it with, and you've captured Vera as she always has at least 2 coordinating prints in her bags. I'm not from the South, but I love Vera and have quite a large collection of her quilted purses, thanks to my aunt who lives in Ft. Wayne IN where they are made. She and my cousin go to the big, yearly warehouse sales and get loads of purses at a big discount; lucky me!
