My heart aches for the president of the university where DH is an adjunct professor, and his family. They experienced a house fire and his almost 9 year old grandson was without oxygen for too long. Though he has died, his heart and other organs were donated. Aiden's siblings and mom are all doing better. I didn't know him or the family but they have been on my mind and in my prayers. I started working with an altered clipboard and this is where it went. I saw a display at our artisan and farmer's market last summer and talked to the artist about the clipboard. She has a friend who saws down the clipboards into a dress form like shape and makes the bases. I used salt, etc on the metal to distress it. I tore and crumpled some hymns and used ink to distress and give a faux burnt edge look. I added lace, burlap, and denim before adhering my pages. I chose Jesus Loves Me, Safe In The Arms of Jesus, and Near to the Heart of God. Now that my direction was established, I chose embellishments to evoke little boy. I recycled some trash in the form of the blue paper I picked up on a walk and the paper towel with blue paint that I saved from a previous project. The die was also picked up on a walk and I saved the leather from some shoes. The denim is torn from old jeans. I also sprayed blue and brown inks into the air and waved through to get a very fine spatter.

So sorry to hear about your husband's co-worker and the loss of his grandson. That is terrible. You did a great job on your clip board. Thanks, for playing the challenge.
