Carla challenged us to make shaker cards today. I'm so glad that our challenge hostesses periodically challenge us to make shaker cards. Because I am not inclined to make them on my own, but the more I do the easier they get. Of course "Make a shaker card" is so open-ended that I got a little lost for a bit. I had to go browsing the gallery and I decided that I wanted to try a big shaker with a pretty die cut pattern in front. I used a free Brother ScanNCut pattern. The pattern makes a little lantern with the pattern on all four sides. But I just cut the pattern to about card size. I filled my shaker with gold sequins and glitter. The "love" is also cut using my ScanNCut. I made the pattern using the "Wayback" font that I got from The Hungry JPEG. The card base is from the Recollections pack of cards that I bought on after Christmas clearance at Michael's. I cut up one of the cards to use to cut out the sentiment.
I'm trying to build my stash back up and I didn't put anything on the inside of this yet, so it can be a wedding or anniversary card.

I'm very taken with this and another one I saw using a TH mixed media die...I'd like to try one along these lines. And, ha, it wouldn't matter as much when my acetate gets slightly scuffed, which it always seems to. Beautiful card, Jen.

This is so creative and elegant. I'm with you on the shakers...I wouldn't make them on my own either...I love the way they look though. This is lovely!
