Sympathy cards are the hardest and I have more cards to upload to the gallery that are sympathy than I have other cards there...
That said, I wanted to combine traditional black with a feeling of hope (and color) with this card. The sentiment is heat embossed with black EP by ranger, the stamp from Le Blanc, I used for an earlier sympathy card here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/g...&ppuser=276185
The butterfly starts off as weathered wood and transforms to black soot, dusty concord, faded jeans, peacock feathers, mowed lawn, mustard seed, dried marigold and fired brick (which for some reason - dyslexia perhaps - I always call fried brick). The trick was to stamp and mask from the top down, in other words, I stamped the red butterfly and then masked it to stamp the orange and so on downwards. (I hope that makes sense.)
The left and bottom edge of the card base are black, I stamped the fired brick butterfly on it careful to match it up with the top piece. I used foam tape to mount the top of the card. TFL
