Today's two challenges were fun to mix! Robin challenged us to make a western themed card, so I couldn't resist the Yeehaw set. And it combined perfectly with Dina's challenge to use a patterned background for our image. I knew I had this bandanna DP that my sister gave me (leftover from her scrapbooking days). I stamped the images on the DP in Stazon and then I painted them with Distress Paints. I framed everything with silver marker because silver feels western to me. While my paint was drying I made a little lasso with jute twine, because I always fall in love with those little lassos on everyone else's card. After the paint dried I went in with my gel pens to add details (that I had painted over) and highlights. I'm glad for Dina's challenge, because I really like the worn result of the image stamped and painted directly on the bandanna paper. And how great is this wood grain DP from The Paper Studio? It's got a great southwestern pattern on it! I had a ton of fun making this card.
Thanks for the great challenges today, Ladies!

Super way to combine the challenges! . . .and yes the rope lasso is a great finishing touch - Your stampings look fantastic against the paisley - which kind of makes me wonder why we think it always has to be a blank bg ?? Fantastic job of adding back the little details and highlighting with the gel pen.

Wow and wow again...this is terrific. Your painting directly on the dp looks fantastic. Those images are perfect and work so well with the patterned paper.
