This card is for the Teapot Tuesday challenge and for Anita's mum in Holland.
A week ago DH and I went to an exhibition of Gerhard Richter's art work on display at our Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) here in Brisbane.
I was absolutely amazed at his work and came away with ideas bursting out of my head. He works with photos that he overlays with paint or blurs the photos with paint and the effects are stunning.
I first stamped the image of the women, a very old stamp that I had never used and didn't take the ink well despite stamping several times (thank goodness for the misti) so went over the image with the tattered Rose marker. I then masked the image and stamped the Eiffel Tower with SU craft whisper white and masked it too.
Once that was done I stamped the gingham borders along the top and left hand side of the card and the words bonjour and amour over the card in the same ink and then dried it all.
Then with a shaving brush and starting with the lightest colour - antique linen I applied the colour and just kept building up the colours.
I then dragged Pearl White acrylic paint thinned with water across the card using a sponge applicator and then a fan brush. I then went round the edge with my Cutter Bee to create a border and distressed the edges of the card.
Finally I added the ribbon and flowers (the flowers are Petaloo Premier Spring Darjeeling Collection - Mini Daisies & Mini Pearl Daisies) .....and that's all folks.
Cheers
Marg

Thanks for all the details on how you created this, Marg. It has such a fantastic vintage look so in keeping with that stamp. It reminds me of our last visit to Paris, when there was bad smog and the Eiffel Tower was obscured by it. The ribbon and flowers are a wonderful finishing touch. Sounds like a wonderful exhibition that you visited.

Beautiful sophisticated card, Marg. I like the high style of "Paris" and the homey touch of the gingham ribbon and daisy-like flower.(even tho' gingham fabric was sometimes used on the chair backs of Louis XVI chairs)
