This week's featured stamper is Amy Marshall. Amy has a lovely gallery filled with inspiration. I finally settled on this lovely birthday card: Birthday for Moma by Kalla Walla at Splitcoaststampers The crackle embossing made me think of the gilded faux silk tutorial so I went with that.
I kept the pink color scheme and the birthday card theme with a cake as a focal image. (I love her cake image, so pretty!) But I changed the layout and used faux silk instead of that fabulous crackle ef.
I pulled candles from three different stamp sets and stamped them on the tissue paper. After crinkling the tissue paper, I adhered it to cs sprayed with adhesive. I followed the tutorial by gilding the tissue paper and then sponging.
I sponged around the cake and the heat embossed sentiment. After finishing the card, I got to thinking I would like it better with the cake and sentiment matted in white instead of black. So, my next card is that version. Funny thing is, that our house is divided on which version they like best. My DDs and I prefer the white matted one, my DH likes this one best!
Amy, your gallery is gorgeous. Congratulations.
Thanks for looking!

I love your background technique, Catherine. I want to try this! Beautifully embossed around the edges too! Fun to stamp a large candle in the middle and then all the little ones. Very effective!
