This is for Brenda's Inspiration Challenge - Needlepoint.com website. There are so many beautiful things to see. I selected this pretty one with violets.
First I stamped my card base with Canvas background stamp as inspired by the textile of the needlework. I used the same basic layout. I stamped the Happy Birthday frame; and then separately stamped the February flower of the month - violets and watercolored the image. Then I die-cut both pieces with stitched square dies and layered the birthday frame on green. There was not enough room to layer the flower piece, so I ran a Wild Wasabi marker on the edge and lightly sponged to give a green border. I applied Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves. Since there is a caterpillar on the needlework, I added a die-cut yellow butterfly with stamped antennas. This is going to my friend who has an early February birthday. Wonderful inspiration on the site; thanks Brenda! TFL

Wow! I REALLY like the canvas background. I didn't even know it wasn't patterned cardstock until I read your description!!! The stamped/colored image is so much like the photo inspiration! Fab card!
