I made this card for the Featured Stamper and the Free For All Challenges. Ardyth chose Lisa's (MaryLisaK) gallery for this week's featured stamper challenge. I loved going through Lisa's galler, and I zero'd in on this card right away, It's a White Christmas by MaryLisaK at Splitcoaststampers. I love the trees, the embossing, the deer and how clean and simple her card is too. Then Robin (stamperrobin) asked us to choose A Wonderful Moment from 2017 for the Free For All Challenge. I really had to think about this, but after I made this card I realized what it is. I have been so busy caring for my parents since February 2017 that some days I feel like I cannot even breathe. Then I will look outside and see a majestic buck emerging from the trees and somehow, everything is all right again. This card involved a lot of masking, rock and roll stamping on the trees and a lot of glitter too. I add the glitter with a zig 2-way glue pen. There is a lot of glitter on the trees, but the camera did not capture it. I also used a clear wink of stella pen on the raised embossed holly and that is really shimmery too, but does not show up. I am so thrilled with this week's FS challenge because I never would have made this card otherwise, and I love how it fits the Free For All Challenge for me too. Thanks for looking. ~Karen.

Your gorgeous scene looks amazing nestled in the embossed holly bough! The glitter really adds a snowy touch to the picture. I'm glad you can grab a bit of respite once and a while. :-)

Oh, I was coming to your gallery to look for another card to see what diecut you used on it, and I see you have posted this lovely card. I was drawn to that card of Lisa's too, but did not making anything. I so love this card and your background story on how it came to be!

Karen, this card is gorgeous! Love your scene and I can imagine how peaceful that must make you feel amidst the stressfulness of being a caregiver for your parents. I am sure your parents are so thankful for your assistance and may the memory of your time together be a precious one- hugs and thanks for sharing!

Marvelous! What a beautiful scene inspired by Lisa's card. Love all the sparkle. The embossed background is awesome. The scalloped oval is the perfect frame. How wonderful that your card caused you to recall a favorite memory from last year. Love that! Very nicely done, my friend. TFS

FABULOUS, Karen! Love the ivy embossed bg. Your lovely snowy Christmas tree scene with the red cardinal and deer is lovely...red scalloped frame sets it off to perfection!
