This is my latest tape roll trinket box. I like using ribbon around the bottom, rather than a strip of paper, because the bottom of the box is just a tiny bit larger than the diameter of the tape roll. The flexibility of the ribbon allows you to get it nice and tight all the way around.

You can also use the inner roll of wide wrapping ribbon. Or paint tape rolls, although those are usually 1" or 1-1/2" wide. But I'm going to use some anyway, to make a slightly shorter box.
