What a fun challenge. I peeked at it this morning when I woke too early, and thought straight away of split negatives and of using some of my Snoopy stamps - B&W is perfect for cartoon drawings, after all. I'll look at Snoopy after lunch, but in the mean time I made this. I dismissed split negative because I've never yet found a white embossing powder that matches my white card :-(.
Stamped and embossed the butterflies and sentiment on black card with Versamark and white EP.
Cut them out, and added butterflies stamped in black on white paper and brushed over with a clear glitter pen. Added to a white 5" square, matted it on black and added it to my standard base. Finished it off with a few sequins on the sentiment square.

What a gorgeous birthday card this is Sabrina. I would never have thought to do this in black and white like this so thank you for the great inspiration here. I love the 4 butterfly panels in black on the white embossed bg. Your heat embossed sentiment is really fun and celebratory too. ~Karen.

Those cut out butterflies really make this even more beautiful than it already is! The black and white really shows off the intricacies of the butterfly. I'll be looking for Snoopy later today ;)

Beautiful card with the repeated butterfly image - I like that bit of leafy embossing in the frame and the scattering of sequins on the fourth panel draws the eye to the sentiment, too!
P.S. I have found Recollections Snow EP to be whiter & brighter (it makes my other white powders look yellow in comparison) and it is a perfect match for my white cardstock. (but maybe that's because it's by recollections too . . . )

What a fabulous card, Sabrina! Love the butterflies along with the square sentiment and sequins! I have learned over time that there are many shades of white!

Beautiful card done in black/white with the three butterfly panels and your message in the 4th. Like the added sparkle of the sequins, Sabrina. Happy, Healthy New Year to you.
