I got the inspiration for the background from a lesson Tasnim Ahmed did for Online Card Classes' "Clean & Simple 4" class. I began by stamping the lotus in Tuxedo Black ink onto my mixed media paper panel. I then masked that off to work on the background. I tore a long strip of delicate surface Frog tape (the yellow variety), and cut along one side with my craft knife to create a curvy edge. I adhered that to my panel at an angle, and inked with Broken China just along the edge, letting the ink fade a bit as I moved away from the tape. I moved my tape mask to the next area, inked, and repeated until I'd finished the background. Before removing the flower mask, I blended Tumbled Glass over the whole panel, just to soften the background a bit. I colored my lotus with Prismacolor pencils, and stamped the greeting with Hero Arts Black ink. Finally, I adhered the panel to a white card base.

Oh, so beautiful. Love how you made the background using Frog tape. It is so useful for so many things.
