Needed a sympathy card for a dear friend who just lost his wife. Had it in my mind that I wanted to do the ghosting technique with a pretty Penny Black leaf stencil in my NBUS pile. I watched Loll Thompson's great video and tried my luck at it several times but with no luck. But we stampers are resilient so I wasn't about to let a few disastrous failures stop me; I simply went to plan B!
Cut a panel of PTI Stampers Select white cardstock to 4" square. Sponged the panel with Broken China Oxide Distress Ink. Positioned my stencil the way I wanted and used a large sponge dauber to stencil the leaves in Cracked Pistachio Oxide Distress Ink. Used my heat gun to dry. Stamped and embossed my sentiment (Serendipity Stamps). Stamped the Altenew leaves with black Versafine ink. Heat set.
Assembled my card. Added 3 little star sequins.
I am really pleased with how the card came out.
TFL!

I never saw this card, Debbie - just gorgeous, and way to go on solving your dilemma! I find that I can almost always solve a problem, but just end up spending so much time doing it!!!! Could we get some more hours in the day, please?????

What a beautiful card, Debbie, and I love the colors and especially love the sweet sentiment. Not many words are necessary when one loses a dear one. I'm so glad you stuck with it and achieved such a gorgeous background! Stunning, sweet friend...and you are so dear!! Hugs! xoxo
