I stamped the holly first and then carefully positioned the robin so that he's perched on it. I heat embossed both (and the sentiment) so that I could do wet-on-wet watercolour painting and have the embossed edges act as dams.
After watercolouring the robin and holly, I debated adding a sky or a wash around the image and decided I wanted to leave it completely plain - not even a bit of splatter. What do you think? Add a wash? Add some splatter?

Great job getting your bird onto the branch - so well executed that I thought it was just one stamp until I read your description. Definitely the white space over a wash ( though I can visualize a VERY light spatter - the problem with spatters though is controlling it, so keep it white!)

Beautiful. Love the bird perched on the holly branch. Your card has a lovely look. Although a wash or splatter would be fine, I do like it crisp and clean with the red border. It's good to do something different than you normally do once in awhile. Terrific card! TFS

He is so perfectly perched on the leaves, reminding me of the ones we used to always have in our back yard till the neighbours cut their tree down. What a sweet card..
