Oh my, it has finally come together. My DD is expecting in March with our first grandchild, a boy!!! She is doing an adventure/travel theme in his nursery and she had some art pieces on her registry with hot air balloons and map paper. As I scrolled through Pinterest I saw these lovely invitations. I went with a larger than usual size for me, a half sheet base with a distressed and sponged edge map over the that. I computer generated my sentiment and the shower info onto (with much frustration as I don't work on my computer for card making much....never could figure out how to curve the sentiment!) I then printed onto matte photo paper. I then used my MISTI to line up my balloons and clouds and used markers to ink them as it was hard to fit ink pads with them close together and with mass producing, I didn't want to have to do one image at a time. I then sponged some blue around the edges. I used a blending tool and wish I'd used the sponge that I'm more accustomed to as I was less even than I'd like with the less familiar tool.
I'm excited about my grandbaby and now that I have pulled stuff out, will work on the art pieces for the nursery next!

Always satisfying when a challenge and a bed come together so perfectly. And perfect is right...this looks wonderful, Gail. It's nice to see the balloons on a larger background, it adds to the feeling of travel and distance/possibilities.

Wowza great job creating this scene and adding the computer generated part for the invitation. I am not great at curving text either. I totally should know how to do it considering I use computers all day for making literature. LOL! I guess I have not needed it yet. Love the card. Congrats on the first grand boy.
