I made this card for the Clean & Simple Challenge this week -CAS 456 Grateful (11/20/17). The challenge was to make a clean and simple card with the theme of thankfulness.
This card was a rushed project because I needed a quick card to send to family for Thanksgiving. Why did I wait until the week of Thanksgiving to do it?! Because IÂ’m me?
This challenge to make a CAS card with the theme of thankfulness provided the incentive to get in gear and get it done! Because time was ticking, I resorted to digging through my leftovers and discovered the punched acorn pieces and the stamped tree ring background. The tree ring image was mucked up on one side, so I sliced that off and fussy cut the other edge to make the tree rings more like Tree Rings.
When I finished the card, it originally had an off white card base. It looked oddly unbalanced with that largish orange “thankful”, so I cut the front off the card and mounted it on a matching pumpkin pie card base. I think the darker card base sort of tied the whole card together. What do you think? Should I have left it with the off-white card base?
Oh, the perils of card design! Ha...
I am thankful that you stopped by to look at my late entry to the CAS Grateful Challenge!

The card is perfectly balanced for color. Plenty of my cards come together like yours, piece here and there from things I started. Love it when they come together this well.

I like how you us d the portion of the background stamp. Beautiful card. I've been on the fence about buying this stamp. I love how your card turns out so I think I have to add it my collection. Thanks for the inspiration.
