I'd already made a couple of graduation cards for girls, but I needed one for a couple of boys, too. The dragonfly, like the butterfly, hatches out in an adult form that bears no resemblance to its larval state, so it too could be a symbol of the new life of the new adult grad. The insect is embossed on one side of vellum cardstock and painted on the other side before cutting out and mounting with foam onto the card; the water effect in the foreground is done with a fine-tipped aqua painter. And am I glad that someone taught me how to use a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to line up those images exactly!
