I just now had a chance to finish this card. Monday I colored this whole image using the TLC challenge Pencil Monochrome technique and was excited with how the technique had really improved my coloring. I went to stamp my sentiment (on a wood block that I had not mounted myself or used before) and of course, snuggled right up between Santa and the deer was my crooked sentiment! Arggh! So I fussy cut the messed up area and put a piece of vanilla behind and cut the curve to use today's sketch which I flipped. I adhered the image piece onto the green and cut that curve as well. I found some Christmas dp for my back panel and diecut the sentiment in a complimentary red. I added stars for my other elements. This is going in the mail tomorrow with a handmade ornament to a little boy with cancer who has asked for ornaments to bring some joy to his family.

Good for you saving your beautifully colored image. We never would have known, however your confession has encouraged all of us to recreate instead of tossing out. Great save! The image is lovely and vintage looking. Your coloring style is a terrific for it. Fabulous take on the sketch. Love the big "joy". How nice of you to send your card to someone who needs it! TFS

Oh! Isn't it irritating when they don't mount the stamp straight on the wooden block!!! Arrghh. I am so glad you were able to rescue the image though! It looks great with this sketch! Wonderful Christmas card!
