I thought that if I uploaded other views of the cards, it might help explain what I did. It was very simple, really. The trick is making a paper hinge to house the battery tealight that allows the card to fold flat for posting.
I've used metric measurements but the actual numbers aren't important, they just need to be based on the size of the tealight.
I measured the tealight (which was about 4cm wide).
I cut a 1cm x 20cm strip of the light blue card (the white card let too much light through) and scored it at 4cm, 8cm, 12cm and 16cm to give me four folds and five sides.
I folded along the score lines to make a square frame, overlapped the first and last pieces and glued.
Stick one side of the frame to the centre of the blue front of the card, then stick the back of the frame to the centre of the white piece.
I'd originally used white card for the front piece but it let too much light through and you could see the outline of the top of the tealight.
But I needed the white hills in the background to reflect the light, even the light blue card didn't reflect enough back.
Edited: I realised how to combat the front layer being too transparent in white: cut the layer in white twice and stick together back to back!

Thanks for your detailed instructions! Will have to give it a try! (Wouldn't this make a great tutorial or challenge for next year's Falliday Fest?? Just sayin'...!) :-)

How really pretty. At first I wondered if you'd used chibitronics. I can see great potential in this - so long as I remember your tip about the white card being too light!
