I made this card for this week's color challenge. Pam is our hostess this week and she chose Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler, and dessert is gratitude. I had to substitute Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge ink for the Cajun Craze Ink. I have not inked up this Kitchen Sink 3-step tree stamp in awhile so I thought today was the day. I was really thrilled with how well this tree turned out using all of today's color challenge colors of ink. I live in the woods in MN where we have a lot of deer so I had to include a couple of deer on this card to represent my state. The card base is a piece of rust-colored cs from the Recollections Spice Market card stock pack. To create the background on the card base, score the front of the card base at every half inch across the front. Then I took my rusty hinge ink pad and ran it down the front of the card base several times to get the color saturation I wanted. The one leaf is die cut from gold mirror card stock and the other is a fun one to make. Stamp the leaf stamp onto acetate using Stazon ink. Take 1-2 drops of your re-inkers (Rusty Hinge and Crushed Curry) and mix each color with a drop or two of glossy accents. You need enough glossy accents to cover whatever stamped image you need for your project. Mix the reinker in with the glossy accents, then paint this mixture onto the back of the stamped image on the acetate. Once this is painted in, then add dazzling diamonds glitter on top and set aside to dry. Once this is dry, then fussy cut out. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen

Oh my gosh Karen, your card is just stunning, every detail so perfect! Your work on the background makes it look like a polished mahogany wood panel and the tree is simply amazing, it seems almost 3D. The gorgeous, shiny leaves are a fantastic contrast to the burlap ribbon. The technique used on the one leaf is a great idea, I want to try that one out. Gorgeous, gorgeous card!
