This card was inspired by chapter 44 of the book "50 Truths Worth Knowing."
JL was a shy kid who because a fairly confident adult - or at least it appeared so. But inside... not so much.
Then, one day JL (we don't know if JL is a man or woman, so I'm going to use masculine pronouns, just to simplify this)... one day he timidly greeted the guard at the entry of his workplace and the guard nodded back. The next day, he did it again. And then he smiled to a colleague and gave a firm handshake to another. Before long he was displaying a sense of confidence that he hadn't felt before.
JL said, "Sure, I had to fake it to make it, but it worked for me." And eventually it really did work. His confidence grew and he became empowered. So much so that he was invited to speak at a convention. He received some wise advice before he got on stage. "They don't know what you're planning to say, so they won't know if you make a mistake. If you miss something in your taking points, relax and keep going." So he did. And when it was over... he felt great!
