DD8ABC12L: this week we are on the letter L. I used the Layered Batik Resist tutorial found here: Layered Batik Resist Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers to create the background. I also used an old stamp set called Lace Snowflakes. The double challenge was to use something opaque. Hmm, the paper (except for the vellum) is opaque as well as the ink.
I used this week's sketch challenge to make my snowy card.
The trickiest part was doing the layered batik resist background. Hint, it is really easy to forget to dry the ink between layers! I wrote myself a note to help remember. There are some stamped rings on the background too. This is from the Daydream Medallions and wasn't meant as a stamp. I sponged Peacock Feathers on the edges of the dp. I dry embossed the vellum to add snowflakes to it as well. Stamped and watercolored my snowman and popped him up with dimensionals.
I really like that layered batik technique and the effects you get with it.
Thanks for looking!

I really like how you did the bg layers...they meld into each other beautifully to create a united whole. Your adorable CAS snowman is the "star of the card".
