I created the frame from watercolor paper with the "Splash Watercolor" technique, using Evergreen Bough, & Peacock Feathers Distress inks. I die cut the panel with a rectangle die, and a stitched circle die in the middle. I also stamped my images onto watercolor paper. I used Navy ink for the cardinal, Cup o' Joe for the pine cones & postmark image, and Antique Linen for the mistletoe. I colored the pine branch stamps with a brown marker, adding green with a marker to the needles. I spritzed each with water, & stamped onto watercolor paper. I colored the pine cones by scribbling more of the brown marker onto an acrylic block, and picking it up with a water brush to apply the color to the paper. For the bird & mistletoe, I used my Inktense pencils. I picked up the color with a damp paintbrush, and applied it to the paper. Finally, I die cut my images with the coordinating dies.
I stamped the script background onto watercolor paper with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, and spritzed it with water to help the color bleed & move. I popped my frame over that with foam tape. I arranged all my images around the circle opening. I popped the larger branch, bird, & postmark on foam tape, and glued everything else down flat. Finally, I matted my panel with tan cardstock, & adhered that to a white card base.
