For the Ways To Use it challenge, Fussy cut an image out using only scissors. See more here: WT659 ~ Cut it Out!! (10/26/2017) by Covington Crafter at Splitcoaststampers
I fussy cut the trolls as close as possible to maintain the wispy hair style they are know and loved for. They were colored with color pencils (I couldn't stop seeing William H. Macy, Ha!) and accented with gel pens. I added diamond glaze to the eyes and sequins to the belly button. The colorful panel they're resting on was a scrap of shaving cream paper embossed with a sweater texture. Looks sort of like the braided rugs of their time.
Fun fact about the origin of the Troll dolls; Troll dolls were originally created in 1959 by Danish fisherman and woodcutter Thomas Dam.
Dam could not afford a Christmas gift for his young daughter Lila and carved the doll from his imagination. Other children in the Danish town of Gjøl saw the troll doll and wanted one. Dam's company "Dam Things" began producing the dolls in plastic under the name Good Luck Trolls. The dolls became popular in several European countries during the early 1960s, shortly before they were introduced in the United States. They became one of the United States' biggest toy fads from the autumn of 1963 to 1965. The originals were of the highest quality, also called "Dam dolls" and featuring sheep wool hair and glass eyes.
Hence the reason for using the sentiment I chose. Besides the fact of those mice looking so darn comfy.

Are the trolls stamps?
Anyway-this is a riot to me! Those mice sleep in/on EVERYTHING on the planet so this is totally believable to me! Great idea! Maybe that should be a challenge. Place the mice sleeping in things....
So that troll doll and Barbie were both born in the same year-1959!

Wow, wonderful masking, fussy cutting and imagination! I had troll dolls back in junior high school. I do believe mine looked like the orange haired one.
