1. Technique Challenge – Splash Watercolor.
2. Yeti Status requirement.
3. Alphabet Challenge – Letter K – stamp set & sentiment – Kindness
The Splash Watercolor technique was fun to try. I made several backgrounds with Distress Oxide ink. I have one with nice splatter, but I liked how this piece had mostly pink on one side and blue on the other. I decided to use it and mat with the opposite colors. I painted the butterflies with the same ink and then die-cut the panel and popped it up.
This is going to a lonely senior friend in another city. I canÂ’t visit her very often, but I do what I can. She enjoys getting happy mail. She likes to tell me that her favorite color is blue. I make sure every card has a little blue on it. She is always kind to call and thank me for the card; she says how pretty it is and how much she enjoys receiving my cards. I think it makes her feel a little less lonely. SheÂ’ll like this one. Thanks for the fun challenge and sharing a technique. IÂ’ll be using this one again. TFL

The distress oxides made a beautifully soft backdrop for those pretty butterflies! I really like the way you split the matting to contrast with the predominant colour in the background. Great card and a real nice pick-me-up for your friend!

This is beautiful! I have that stamp set and I haven't used it in quite some time. I love what you did with this. I'm going to have to go in search of mine soon. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh Diane, what a gorgeous, gorgeous card this is! Wow! I adore the colors you used and the effects you achieved in this bg- it is so ethereal looking which is perfect for these gorgeous butterflies. I am truly inspired by how you take older stamp sets and make them feel new and modern again. You are so kind hearted to send happy mail to a lonely senior you know of. That is wonderful Diane, and I know for a fact she will adore this gorgeous card from you. ~Karen.
