When I first saw this challenge, I though, "No way!" I couldn't think of anything I have that would constitute a humorous holiday image. Even looking at the gallery, while it gave me some giggles, didn't produce any inspiration for my own card. But I went through my Bugaboo images, and found this one. I have always gotten a kick out of the "Ho {cubed}" greeting, so I decided to combine those. I sized Santa to fit on the panel in the sketch using Photoshop. I typed the "HO" in Photoshop as well, and added a superscript "3." I printed both onto a piece of mixed media paper. I colored Santa with my Inktense pencils, using a damp paintbrush to pick up the color from the pencils & apply it to the paper. I used 2 of the Starry Colors to paint the ornament, and added a pale reflection where Santa is sitting on it with my red pencil.
I cut a panel of patterned paper, and matted it with green. I punched my greeting with a 1" circle punch, and die cut a mat from the same green. I also matted my image panel to help it stand out more. Finally, I adhered all my pieces to a white card base. I really like how this came out, despite the mental struggle!
