This card has come out like a phoenix from the ashes....I was trying to achieve the beautiful rich look I have seen when people use DOX inks on photo paper and rub off the oxidation. Well, first attempts were fails, wrong paper. The other day I made time to look through my photo paper file and found something else I thought I'd try. And yes, it worked...I had a lovely colourful background panel all read for Kelli's challenge.
Stamped the grid and text on it, being sure to use Archival for fear of smudging on the slightly smooth surface. I should have spattered white paint, instead I stamped with white pigment, and I was afraid to heat set or emboss it because I hadn't tested the paper with my heat gun. So I sprayed it with fixative. The text bled, the grid stamp didn't. Why, why not? The bottom corner text was particularly bad, so I used a TH die and removed most of it. Underneath it is a piece of glossy photo paper with alcohol inks.
I cut the Chloe stem from gold glitter card, the bird from a piece of paper sponged with DOX and the sentiment from black card, and assembled it all together. I added SN clear glitter pen to all the little hexagons and stuck most of them around the card. Stamped a few tiny little bees. Masked the bird and stamped music notes on him, then spritzed him lightly. Used a white gel pen to add tiny little dots in the red hexagon apertures, to slightly reduce their brightness. Added Glossy Accents to the little round bits on the Chloe stem for added dimension.
And in the end, I love it!

Perseverance pays off, your card is creative and draws the eye back time and time again! Your bg is a marvelous combination of colors and patterns. I think the slight bleed on the text works well. Love the little bees. Thanks to you, I've got the TH mixed media dies on my wish list!
