My mom needed a birthday card for a friend of hers, so I made this one. I got my inspiration from a card I found through Pinterest (https://vintagepagedesigns.com/herringbone-card/). I cut a piece of cardstock to back my herringbone pattern, using a scrap that was on my desk, & marked the lines where I wanted to start my pattern. I coated one side of that with Stick It adhesive. I trimmed several different patterned papers from my scrap stash into 1/4" wide strips, and started laying them on my cardstock. When I had laid all the strips, I burnished them with my teflon bone folder, to make sure they were really adhered. I ended up having to trim off the sides of the panel a little, because there were tiny bits on 3 sides that were just too small to cover with patterned paper, and I didn't want the background cardstock peeking through. I matted that panel with navy cardstock. I cut another piece of tan cardstock to A2 size, & adhered my herringbone piece to it. I stamped my greeting in Versamark, and heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Finally, I adhered my card front to a white card base.
