I made this congrats card for a boy who has been adopted from Ukraine recently.
Love the way the technique turned out. The look is great! However, I fussed with this card all day. The technique is fun, but it is hard to use it in a way that honors the vintage look of the technique. Also, I had to scuff up the large raised areas (continents) with Soft Suede ink because I couldn't sand them enough to get the paint layer off of them. I guess I needed something firm under them?

No matter the difficulties you had with the technique it sure made one very cool card! You've got so many wonderful details on this,,.love the little plane. How wonderful is it that a child from far away has a family...so happy for them.

I usually keep the card in the embossing folder for sanding, but even so it would be hard with such large solid areas, I think. Maybe a small piece of sandpaper wrapped over a finger? It looks great, and what a wonderful card design for the occasion.
