This card was made for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #017: https://tictactoechallenge.com/ I chose the top horizontal line of the tic-tac-toe which includes: stencil - open - green
My front panel is Stampin' Up! Garden Green cardstock. I used the plastic stencil from my 2003 Winter Wonderland StampBoss set made by Fiskars (yes, I NEVER through away craft supplies :-)
I taped the stencil down with painters tape, so that I had a hinge line on the bottom of the stencil, but also that all the non-tree stencil openings were covered. Then I smoothed white Dreamweaver embossing paste over the tree openings. I immediately removed all the painters tape and carefully removed the stencil. Be sure to wash the excess paste off the stencil in a sink right away!
After the embossing paste had dried overnight, I then used Wink of Stella to go over all the "snow" on the trees to give them a lot of sparkle. As is often the case, the pretty glisten and gleam doesn't show up in the photo, although there are some differences in "whiteness" in the snow that are from the facets in the Wink of Stella reflecting away and toward the camera.
Next, I used the night time sky die from the SU Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies set to make stars and the moon in the sky. I then matted the green panel with SU Whisper White cardstock so that the stars and moon would be bright white, and there would be a white matting around the green panel. I used Wink of Stella in the stars and moon to also make them sparkle.
Finally, I stamped the tiny deer from the Carols of Christmas and die cut him using the matching Card Front Builder Thinlits set. I attached him at the bottom of the tree using a Mini Glue Dot to raise him up a bit on the card.
This completed panel was then glued to the folded 10"x 7" Cherry Cobbler card base using Tombow glue. I thought about adding a sentiment, but decided the winter theme spoke for itself, and a sentiment would ruin the "open" aspect of the card.
So I have the:
"stencil" making the snowy trees.
"open" where the stencil prevented paste
"green" of the entire card front
