I recently bought Memory Box's adorable Swirling Ghosts die and knew I couldn't let them sit on my growing NBUS pile. I had some thoughts about trying to do something with one of my Memory Box window dies, but hadn't fully thought the idea through. When I saw Vicky's cute holiday window card last week, I knew I had to CASE it.
I just loved her black and white card with the pop of color from her sunset outside the window. So I kept those colors. I changed the holiday, skipped adding a window box for the sentiment, opting to stamp my image below the window. I chose textured cardstock for my white panel and embellished with stars inside and outside my window, rather than Vicky's regular sequins.
I die cut my window 4 times from black cardstock. I cut a scrap of Xpress cardstock, slightly smaller than the window and sponged using Lawn Fawn Sunflower and Altenew's Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze and Firebrick inks. I layered 3 of the windows using Glossy Accents.
I cut the ghosts out of white glitter cardstock and also black cardstock. I positioned the ghosts and then put little drops of Glossy Accents into the eye holes and added the black eyes. This allowed me to know exactly where to adhere my ghosts as all I had to do was to line up the eyeballs and the eye holes. After adhering the ghosts, I used a black SU marker on the edges of my sponged panel so that no white or orange would show through when viewing the window from the side. I attached the ghost layer between my bottom window and the 3 top windows.
Next I die cut the white panel and inlaid the window. I then added my sentiment and assembled the card.
Final touches included adding star sequins inside and outside the window and adding Glossy Accents to the ghosts' eyes for added dimension.
TFL!
