Fun challenge from Kelli today to use acronyms on our cards. I've seen this as either HBD2U or HB2U. I decided to go with the D today. I used the SU Crayon Alphabet set that I bought on ebay about a year ago. I just HAD to have it and this is the first time I've used it. Tell you what, though, I do love it. Stamps great and looks really cute, too.
I used my Exactly Write guide to make sure my letters were straight and my Stamp-a-ma-jig for everything on here. I also used the Versa Mark priming technique to get that Distress ink to work on the those fill stamps on the cake and balloons (prime the stamp with Versa Mark by inking it up and then wiping on your hand before you ink up the color). What a great tip. I never use my Distress inks for stamping because I could never get good coverage before.
I chose to place the acronym a little bit to the right of center and then after I stamped the cake above it I decided I could line everything up on the diagonal with the two balloons too. But it still needed something else, so I found a fun stencil and just stuck with that diagonal. Still needed something so a doodled double line (matching the style of the stamped images) finished it off. But lastly, I did have to color the candle with my Spectrum Noirs.

So cute with your fun crayon alpha letters...can't believe you hadn't used that set yet. I like how you did the chevrons in the bg. Oh and thanks for the tip on distress inks and the versamark ;)
