This card will go to my niece Liz. She recently bought a house and will be moving in this Fall. She's like me in that we both have a hard time making a decision. I want her to know that this house was meant to be. She was thinking of buying the house she's currently renting but it's really tiny and would need a lot of work..a money pit in my view. She finally decided to look beyond that and bid on this other house in the city (she had been in a suburb). You never know how these things will turn out...it's a seller's market here and houses go like that. She was lucky to get the one she wanted and hers was not the highest bid. She wrote a personal letter to the sellers and told them that she's 40 years old and has been saving for a house all this time. Guess the personal touch paid off.
I made the bg using a piece of MME dp that was mostly plain with a tiny bit of little designs around the edge. I applied distress oxide inks and also various bg stamps that were stamped in black. I went over that with a tiny bit of white paint applied with an old gift card which toned down the color. I really like how it turned out. The house was made using old book pages (German) that I had sprayed with ink sprays and then I cut out the pieces free hand. I doodled around the edge, added some white dots and a border in black and white.
Oh and by the way when Liz was a little girl she always wanted a pink house...now she'll have it.. at least in card form..lol..Hew new house is white...I think the front door is green
TFL!
Apologies to John Mellencamp for borrowing his lyrics for my title...

Love this sweet card, Polly. Another great sentiment from Unity. I think I will be returning to my stamp room this morning to create just a couple of more of these encouraging cards. With these storms behind us, and looking at yet others that are forming, it certainly is positive, encouraging thoughts and of course, prayers that see us through them all.

Polly, I love your cute card and the special meaning behind it. I like that you stamped the house over the German word page
and the background is awesome. This is a great card and I am glad your niece got the house she wanted.
