I made this card to post to my blog last week for Art Neko. I started it quite a while back, stamping and colouring the main image which I imagined to be a birdhouse, after colouring it I started to wonder. Anyway, it seemed to me that it would make a great shaker - so it was a bit of a pain that I'd stamped it on good thick watercolour card! But I managed to cut out all the apertures in it. My shaker fill is actually all the tiny little bits left after cutting a Spellbinders border for something, they looked as if they would make a good shaker so I kept them in a little tub, and the colours went well with this image. I used gold stickers to edge the panel.
For the base, I wanted to go with the garden feel so I thought of using this coarse mesh, which I stitched to the card. I ended up sponging it round the edges with Peeled Paint to add a bit of definition. And then I spent a few days wondering where to go next...The collage paper seemed to pick up on the blooms in the image, so I layered that under the shaker panel. And then to finish it all off, I added the stamped sentiment, a couple of butterflies and the leaf trim which was a RAK - timely, as I used to have some years ago but it's all gone by now. It still seemed to be missing something, so I added lots of Liquid Pearl dots in two shades of pink, which picked up on both the stamped image and the paper.
The Art Neko store is currently offline, reopening shortly with a super new interface!

OMGosh...I LOVE all that you have done to this lovely card! That mesh bg...the green distressed edges and stitching...so perfect. I think a beauifully-colored, Asian birdhouse and you are right the pattened dp so highlights your beautiful blossom.
