Wendy challenged us to make a card inspired by the 70's. I listened to Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, and Cat Stevens. My card depicts a song by Cat Stevens called, Morning Has Broken.
I stamped the image then covered an area for the sun. I sponged the sunrise then the ground in front of the scene. I removed the mask from the sun and sponged it. I used direct to paper to color the planks of wood behind the image.

THis is beautiful and perfect for that song. I remember the first time I heard it, I had just started high school and they played in during a homecoming assembly with all the lights out. When the song started, a light rose over the gym floor which had all been decorated like a forest with a green field. The homecoming court walked out and I thought to myself that magic had just happened as I had never heard a more beautiful song or dreamed an ugly gym could be the pretty. More than you wanted to know, but this brought back a very beautiful memory! Thanks!!! Great card!!!

I thought it was an homage to the wood panelling that everyone had in their houses! Or when I read Gordon Lightfoot, I thought maybe it was "Sundown". Your card works on so many different levels

What a beautiful card Sue...when I first clicked on your card I was wondering what the 70's connection would be...your Cat Stevens inspired theme is perfect! I still love both Cat and Gordon Lightfoot and listen to them often
