Though I was on track to have this card complete Tuesday night, prior to the posting of this week’s sketch challenge, I ran out of time (a girl needs to sleep a little, after all!) and finished it last night after cleaning up for dinner. Though I know there is no “expiration date” for challenges, I seem to make it a personal challenge to myself to complete the current challenge prior to the next week’s posting. Alas, I missed the mark on this one just a bit but hope I can catch up this weekend with another one!
I am extra excited about this card, simply as I made it for a good friend of my husbandÂ’s who turns 60 tomorrow. When I learned of a party for him (tonight!) that we had been invited to, I asked my husband if he thought the friend would enjoy a homemade card or if I should go the easy route and just buy one (I know, I know, but you canÂ’t make them for everyone unless cardmaking is your *only* hobby! :-) hehe). Long story short, homemade it was and here is the final result! The friend really enjoys hunting upland game in the fall, and since I didnÂ’t have any pheasant or grouse stamps, I thought a card showing the changing of colors in the fall was the next best ticket for him.
THANK YOU for another fun sketch challenge! These are always some of my favorite challenges to participate in!
Thank you for looking! (Please check out my gallery for a second view of this card – I uploaded both a close-up to show the dimension and texture as well as a shot of the whole works – inside, envelope, and all! :-) )
Blessings,
C
