I started with my musky stamp which is only 2". I took a picture of it, sent it to my printer and enlarged the image to 6".
I used perfect pearls powders, mixed with water, and painted the fish and added swirls for the water background. The photo does not reveal the beauty of the iridescence of the fish, in real life it really shines especially against the embossed woodgrain card base.
I triple matted the image in black cardstock to give it dimension and mounted the image with 4 dark gray brads.
The sentiment is die cut in the shape of a trophy plaque.
My son's birthday is coming up and he loves the great outdoors... hunting & fishing, especially fishing for the mighty musky!!
His trophy catch & release to date is a 51" musky!
Thanks Audrie for a very inspiring website!

Holy cow! A 51"musky! That's awesome! He's going to love THIS fabulous card. I know I do! Never caught a musky but I'm sure they must be really fun to catch!

I had to google the musky fish, and found out your son was kind of close to a record setter. Pretty cool! So now, I also have to say the image deserved to be enlarged, and how creative. What a wonderful masculine card, and your DS will surely love it!

What a great image of a musky, Jeannie! The coloring of the fish is magnificent, and the wood grain embossing is a great reflection of your inspiration piece! Great card, Jeannie!

What an awesome card you created! I love the fish! I'm sure the real life colors are perfect! I love the wood grain EF! It looks perfect with your fish! It gives the thought of the fish mounted on the wall. Congrats to your son for the awesome Musky catch! My grandson wants to catch a Musky but I'm sure it will no way be as big as the one your son caught! Very nice card!!
