I adore this stamp because it reminds me of my parents younger days. They're both now deceased but I always loved hearing them talk about their 'courting days.' It wasn't called dating back then, it was called courting. There was no tv...thus no internet dating, no movie theaters (although years later, owning and running the local picture show was how they made our living), and no restaurants (in our small town). They met at a church "pound supper." The ladies cooked something that supposedly weighed a pound, fixed it up real pretty, and the men bid on it. Mother took a pound cake and Daddy outbid the other guys, so he got her cake, and yes...he got her too! Let me add this...there were no automobiles yet, so they dated on a horse and buggy. I just love it!
