This LO was inspired by a digi LO in the July challenge. As my photo was too big I had improvise.
Originally this photo was matted on orange card on a light grey bazzill bg and sat like that for about 3 years. As it's one of the last few photos to scrap for our son's albums, I had completely changed my approach so there was nothing for it but to rip the photo off the original LO. Now I had to do something with it (
The blue border around the photo is part of 2 pages I had created BGs on several weeks ago using a stencil, paste and blue & green inks. I knew that BG would come in handy one day
The photo and emphera are on 2 bazzill cardstocks. One was covered in tissue paper and covered in clear gel to give lots of texture. Unfortunately you can't see it as I hadn't taken into account the size of the photo and all the other stash, but it's there
The top layer was created using lots of water, folding, pressing, drying, more water and then pouncing with a sponge using TH Antique Linen ink. Edges sponged with ink.
The stamping was done first and then all the emphera laid out similar to the original digi design. Stars die cut and other complements and metal key added.
This was the moment I should have stopped, but I obviously wanted to get inky, so out came the sprays carefully sprayed onto my craft mat so colour could be added with a paintbrush.
Gosh those inks go far and when I look at my LO (which I'd carefully moved aside), yep there's ink on there. Water squirted and by the time I had finished I was wishing I'd just left it as it was. But there's always that rescue item in the craft cupboard....gesso Off again around the edges to give the inks a softer look. More stamping and it's finally done.
It only took 3 years
Thanks for taking time to look. Happy day
