This is my card for the letter H Alphabet Challenge. The Hs in my card are houndstooth and hats. The double challenge was to make a card with some kind of a hat. I have had this mini hat set from JoAnn fabrics for several years now- the 49 cent price sticker is still on it. This is a low quality acrylic stamp set that stamps terribly so that is why I have never used it before. However, now that I have a MISTI stamping tool, I thought I would give these stamps another go. I ended up stamping each hat image at least 6 times before I got the image to look right because these stamps are so blotchy looking otherwise. However, I was quite pleased with the end result after all that stamping. Then I fussy cut each of these hats out. Now what to do. I think I held onto these hat stamps for so long because I love things from the 20s and 30s and these wonderful hats remind me of that era. Then I remembered how my grandfather wore houndstooth suits to church with a very dapper hat to coordinate with his suit. Score! I have had this houndstooth dsp for years and today was the day to use it. I had the card assembled and it still needed something; a little suede red bow completed the look. Yay! Thanks for looking. ~Karen.

This is such a dapper card Karen! Your hats are fabulous, the banners with the hats and bow tie superb. If my youngest DD was here she would say, "Bow tie! And its red!" Because one of the doctors from Doctor Who wore a red bow tie. She always comments on bow ties. Fabulous card!

The dsp is perfection for your hat card. I love the hat on your sentiment banner too. Your bow is just such an added attraction on this wonderful masculine card.

Wow, Karen! The hats look gorgeous and seem to have a shine on them. Glad you pulled out that stamp set! I love anything houndstooth, so I love the designer paper you used. Love the story about your grandfather! Great card, my sweet friend!
