| | This is my card for the letter H Alphabet Challenge. The Hs in my card are houndstooth and hats. The double challenge was to make a card with some kind of a hat. I have had this mini hat set from JoAnn fabrics for several years now- the 49 cent price sticker is still on it. This is a low quality acrylic stamp set that stamps terribly so that is why I have never used it before. However, now that I have a MISTI stamping tool, I thought I would give these stamps another go. I ended up stamping each hat image at least 6 times before I got the image to look right because these stamps are so blotchy looking otherwise. However, I was quite pleased with the end result after all that stamping. Then I fussy cut each of these hats out. Now what to do. I think I held onto these hat stamps for so long because I love things from the 20s and 30s and these wonderful hats remind me of that era. Then I remembered how my grandfather wore houndstooth suits to church with a very dapper hat to coordinate with his suit. Score! I have had this houndstooth dsp for years and today was the day to use it. I had the card assembled and it still needed something; a little suede red bow completed the look. Yay! Thanks for looking. ~Karen. |
