I made this for Janelle's By the Book mixed media challenge. For the mediums, I used distress inks (regular and oxide) and Twinkling H2Os.
I'll add my inspiration book cover to my link in the challenge thread - it's The Man Who Was Magic, by Paul Gallico.
Sponged and spritzed my base with pink oxide - glad I decided to start with a larger piece than A2.
Made a piece of faux wood, cut the border, embossed it and sponged again over the raised embossing.
The flowers were stamped on watercolour paper so that they wouldn't be stark white, I also washed over them with SN clear glitter pen, and added Stickles to the centres. The leaves are MFT dies, cut from watercolour paper washed with two shades of Twinkling H2Os. I stamped the sentiment, added the border to the base and arranged the flowers, added a small flourish which was lying on my desk. I used a spatter stamp and Heat and Stick powder to add some gilding flakes for a little touch of sparkle, and to finish off, I added the dragonfly from Asian Artistry, stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Twinkling H2Os.
