Lisa's (Shoe Girl) WTUI Challenge, WT646, for this week is, "Let's Warm It Up". The heat that a lot of the US is experiencing is the impetus for Lisa's challenge. Therefore, she wanted to see "hot" cards.
The beautiful Bird of Paradise flower came to mind for the challenge as it requires a good amount of sunlight (i.e., hot). Therefore, the ODBD new Bird of Paradise stamp and matching die were used for my card.
My card has no layers; it's a card base that I die cut a border at an angle along the card front. Then I stamped and colored the Birds of Paradise and sponged various inks onto the card front and inside of the card to create a landscape scene. Then I stamped, colored, and die cut two Birds of Paradise and attached them to the front with double-sided foam tape.
P.S. For clarity, the card truly has no layers. It started as an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of WHITE card stock that I folded in half (i.e., A2 card size.) to determine the center. I unfolded the card, laid the HC die at an angle across the front of the card, and run it through my die-cutting machine to create the border on the card front. The border is not a separate piece that was attached to the front.

I love the way you used the decorative border die to trim the front of the card diagonally like that. And wow, those strelitzia are absolutely gorgeous!!

Bev I don't think you are allowed to rip a photo of Bird of Paradise from a gardening book and stick it on a card...no matter how beautiful the card and fancy edging might be! Just kidding - oh my gosh Bev this is gorgeous.
