Made for Christmas Throwdown theme challenge #14: http://52cct.blogspot.co.uk/ where the challenge was to use at least five of a rainbow of colors.
I started with finding a "rainbow" pattern paper in my retired pad of Stampin' Up! Sweat Pea Designer Series Paper. Then I chose a second pattern to match (the green dots) that I thought looked festive. These two were glued onto a 4"x5-1/4" Rose Red cardstock.
I cut a thin strip of SU Old Olive cardstock to cover the joining of the two pattern papers. This was also glued down to give a pleasing proportional showing of the two papers.
The holiday ornament was stamped using the retired SU Delightful Decorations set using Melon Mambo ink. Because the stamp has so much solid area, I used my MISTI to stamp the ornament twice onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then punched out the ornament, and mounted it using Adhesive Foam Strips onto a 2" square piece of Whisper White cardstock. A 2-1/4" square of Old Olive was cut using my Stampin' Trimmer as matting for the white square. This was glued to the back of the white square.
Finally, the assembled ornament element was attached to the center of the Old Olive green strip using Adhesive Foam Strips to give even further depth and interest to the card.

A lovely, fresh card Donna. I like how the muted olive balances the bright rainbow colours. Thank you for sharing with us at the Christmas Card Throwdown.
