So, a very long time ago a lady I know mailed me some really cool iris tubers all the way from Kansas that kind of have this color going on with them, purple, pink & yellow. ( very different) (that same lady lost her husband Saturday so) I do not actually have any stamps of double ruffle beard-ed iris but, I think the colors are close enough. (I am intending to use this as a Sympathy card... are the colors too pretty?) this is a big wood mounted stamp and I wanted it to have a little of that no line effect but, I needed the lines for definition so, I stamped it with the oxide inks and colored over that with polychromos pencils. The background was done smooshing, patting, dragging, layering all 4 of those oxide inks listed on a craft mat. It's not real "clean" but, it is flat. Thanks for this challenge Kia, & tfl.

Very beautiful tribute to your friend's lovely gift all those years ago, to make a sympathy card in the colors of those beautiful tubers. Your thoughtfulness in the design and color of your lovely card is beyond words. I am sure she will treasure your beautiful, elegant sympathy card.

STUNNING!! Your beautiful no-line irises are amazing, Stacy! And the smooshed background is gorgeous. I think your friend will appreciate not only that you made the card yourself, but you included something that is a special connection between you. Very thoughtful. xx
